The courses below assist employers and employees to deal with the stresses and demands of the modern workplace and help focus on the importance of getting it right on the front line with both internal customers and external customers, maximising business potential, improving levels of professionalism, confidence and job satisfaction.

Clinical Moving and Handling

Paediatric First Aid Course Clinical Moving and Handling is a training course designed to comply with the Manual Handling Regulations 1992 for people in a care setting. The course is split into 2 parts, the first part is the theory while the second is totally practical and involves the use of hoists, slings, slide sheets and moving people correctly. This is a hands-on course and we recommend that unrestrictive, practical clothing is worn.

Adult Social Care Common Induction Standards

This course is aimed at all new staff and those moving roles who work in health and social care. It involves a comprehensive 4 full days of mandatory induction training to assist with the completion of the Skills for Care induction work book. The course will cover the 8 Induction Standards as set out by Skills for Care.

Care With Dignity

This course is aimed at all staff working in health & social care. It involves a half day session that explores how dignity starts at the very top of the organisation with the manager and owner taking responsibility for ensuring their staff provide a dignified service. It will describe how care staff provide and the way they provide it, are the standard by which service users will measure whether they have been treated with dignity and respect.

De Escalation Techniques

This course is aimed at all staff working in direct delivery of services who encounter aggressive and potentially violent situations. The one day course is designed to support staff who deal with potentially disruptive and assaultive behaviours. It enables staff to understand what factors may increase or decrease the likelihood of anger and aggression occurring in work settings. It will consider some strategies and good practice in relation to managing potential angry situations.

Equality and Diversity

This course is aimed at all staff working in direct delivery of services. This training promotes the requirements of the Equality and Diversity Act 2010. Equality is everyone’s right and everyone’s responsibility. This half day awareness session will strengthen your understanding of Equality and Diversity. This course will include a presentation, handouts, group work and exercises. The style of delivery is flexible with scope for adjusting activities to suit individual needs.

MCA 2005/ DoLs Briefing

This course is aimed at all staff working in health and social work. The Mental Capacity Act (2005) came into force in Oct 2007.

It provides a coherent legal framework for people who may not be able to make their own decisions because of a learning disability, an illness such as dementia or mental health problems. This training session will provide you with a working knowledge of the existing legal framework for protecting adults.
